The Great Smoky Mountains offers visitors a wide range of camping options. Campsites are available in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and throughout the Smokies.
Great Smoky Mountains National Park Camping
The Great Smoky Mountains National Park maintains 10 developed campground locations that have restrooms with cold running water and flush toilets, but no showers and no electric/water hookups. Each campsite has a fire grate & picnic table.

The Park also offers primitive backcountry camping. A free backcountry permit (available at most ranger stations & visitor centers) is required for backcountry camping. Hikers staying overnight in the backcountry must camp in either a designated site or shelter (reservations required).
