Climb aboard the space needle and ride in a glass elevator 400 ft up to the observation deck for a breathtaking 360-degree view of the Great Smokey Mountains. Another attraction you won't want to miss is Ripley's Aquarium of the Smokies, a world-class, 1.3 million gallon aquarium with 11 ft sharks and more than 8,000 exotic sea creatures.
Gatlinburg is also home to the Great Smoky Mountains Arts and Crafts Community. Travel the 8-mile loop (designated a Tennessee Heritage Arts & Crafts Trail) and you will discover the largest gathering of independent artisans in the country. There you will find hand-made arts and crafts including baskets, quilts, candles, ceramics, brooms, pottery, jewelry, leather goods, fine photography, frameable art, oils and watercolors.
