Grandfather Mountain
Privately owned and operated as a scenic attraction and nature preserve, Grandfather Mountain is the highest peak in the Blue Ridge Mountain range at an elevation of 5,964 ft. Grandfather Mountain offers some of the most beautiful mountain scenery in the Smokies. The highlight of any trip to Grandfather Mountain is crossing the Mile High Swinging Bridge, a 228-ft suspension bridge spanning an 80-ft chasm, to enjoy the magnificent view from Linville Peak. Visitors can hike on more than 12 miles of well maintained trails.

Linville Caverns
Located deep beneath Humpback Mountain, Linville Caverns are the only caverns found in North Carolina. Over many centuries slow moving groundwater carved out amazing rooms and passages housing picturesque formations. During a search for the source of fishing swimming out of the mountain, Linville Caverns were discovered in the 1800’s. The caverns have been open for tours since 1939.

Linville Falls
Located in the Linville Gorge (5 miles from Linville Caverns), Linville Falls are a series of scenic, natural waterfalls. There are 2 main hiking trails to view the falls. The most popular trail is a moderately difficult 1.6 mile round trip. To reach the visitors center turn off the Blue Ridge Parkway at milepost 316.4.
